About this character

U+2002 is EN SPACE, a space character in the General Punctuation block. Its script is Common: it is shared by many writing systems rather than belonging to one. It was added in Unicode 1.1 (1993).

It is a compatibility variant of U+0020 (compatibility decomposition <compat>). NFC and NFD leave it alone, but NFKC and NFKD replace it with U+0020. Search engines, identifier checks and username systems that apply NFKC will treat the two as the same text.

It has the Unicode White_Space property, so regular-expression \s in most Unicode-aware engines and trimming functions such as JavaScript trim() treat it as whitespace.
