U+3164 is HANGUL FILLER, a letter in the Hangul Compatibility Jamo block. It belongs to the Hangul script. It was added in Unicode 1.1 (1993).

It is a compatibility variant of U+1160 (compatibility decomposition <compat>). NFC and NFD leave it alone, but NFKC and NFKD replace it with U+1160. Search engines, identifier checks and username systems that apply NFKC will treat the two as the same text.

Its East Asian Width is Wide, so terminals and monospaced layouts give it two columns.

It renders as an empty space but does not have the White_Space property. Functions that trim or collapse whitespace leave it in place, which is why it is often used to make names or messages that look blank.
